Why are people so against being Muslim?

It seems ignorant to me. They’re like, “Muslimsim [lol] will corrupt America” blah blah blah… There’s no test that says every President has to be a white guy who slaps Jesus stickers on the back of his pickup truck.

Jeez, Obama isn’t even Muslim!

    Because good Muslims don’t make it into the news. All we hear about are the extremists that give Muslims in general a bad name. For every horror story about a Muslim that you hear, there are a million GOOD Muslims that co-exist with other religions peacefully.
    You can find good and bad people in every religion and every race….people should be judged individually and not for the few horror stories that you hear.

    It is not about the religion but rather about the extremist who believe they must kill anyone who will not convert. It is not about your decent, as I know Christians within the middle eastern populations. It may be because of the “good” people not standing against those who kill through bombings, beheading, and call for the death of others. Personally, If I heard a Christian call for the killing of a population of people, as a Christian, I would stand against them.

    I’m against terrorists who want to kill infidels; they just happen to be Muslim. Wait, Timothy McVeigh was a terrorist and killed Americans too, and he was a Christian…so I must hate Christians too…hmmm.

    My point is that the race/religion card doesn’t need to be played all the time. Some Muslims are waging a Holy War, some are shopping in Beverly Hills. Some Christians are in prison for hate crimes, some are slapping Jesus stickers on their trucks…what have you.

    We can’t always put things into neat little packages and call it “this against that”. Let’s look at the perpetrators of the violence, not their religious beliefs, creeds, or skin color.

    It sounds very simplistic, but the frenzy around these simple questions is interesting. I’m just a regular American guy living a regular American life…to label me as an infidel and call me the devil is a little rude, but what can I do? I just have to take it. :)
