its like a crappy graphics spy car getting chased by cops on a small road, and i you get in a truck you get like more health or something and sometimes more cops, helicopters etc chase you and you release missles, machineguns, smokescreen oil slick etc on them to make them crash.

its such a fun game havent played it in a while i saw a spoof on it on robot chicken

is there a way to get it on the computer or a console? wahts it called?

Its Spy Hunter, and I spent many quarters on that.

The first cars that start out will simply bump you. Then the cars start pushing out razor rims that will send your car flying if they touch you. Then come the helicoptors who try to bomb you. And if you make it far enough, and make the right choice, you drive through a boat-house and your car turns into a boat and you continue on from there. I assume if you go far enough your boat turns back into a car but I never made it that far.

And lining up with your support truck gets you options that lit up on the steering column, oil slick (my favorite) smokescreen and rockets (for those pesky helicoptors.) And who can forget the cheesy Peter-Gun digitized music that played through the speakers. The console version sucked big time (think its a part of the Midway games compilation) but all console versions suck when compared to the arcade version.

I saw the same skit on Robot Chicken where the news was covering the game like it was an actual car chase. It’s called Spy Hunter.

If you want to play it on your PC, just download the NES emulator application Nestopia and the ROM image of Spy Hunter. You can get them at the links in my sources.
