I bought an Everex gpc ($200) and after a while I hated the OS it came with because it couldn’t detect my usb drives and cd/dvds that well after the purchase, and then later became buggy, freezing all the time.
Rather than complain about major problem, I decided to install Windows XP and it did so very well. Now, while everything else in the computer works (usbs,cd/dvds,etc.), the sound doesn’t work!
It used to work before the XP installation. Does the sound not work because of the different OS (XP)? If so, can I be able to download the sound drivers for the computer for it to work? If not, can I buy a sound card and make it work like that?
Need any help possible! Points to the most workable solution.
Thank you.

Most likely you will need to re-install the sound drivers in device manager.
