Exhaust wraps contain the exhaust heat inside the pipe, rather than allow it to radiate into the engine compartment.

The result is a cooler under-hood temperature (which will help horsepower if you don’t have cold air induction on your car – the intake normally takes in some heat from under the hood.

It also reduces the heat stresses on other parts.

They trap the heat in your exhaust pipes. Since less heat escapes back into your engine compartment your engine sucks in cooler air, which in turn helps it run better. Also hot exhaust gases flow better therefore they exit the exhaust system faster reducing back pressure on your engine, once again making your engine run better. Also heat wrecks havoc on critical engine parts. When they stay cool the last longer. They also work better because they don’t wear down as fast.
