If Cable clamps are not touching the metal part of the battery, could that drain the battery? The check engine light came on and before that my battery had been draning. I noticed that there was a gap between cable and the metal part of the battry it wraps around. I disconnected the negative cable and securely tightened it and after that , my check engine light went off. Could that have been the problem?
Thank you

yes a loose connection or corrosion can cause a battery not to start your car properly.it could cause the engine light to come on too.
