I will want to put a custom symbol on my bike to make it stand out from the rest. It’s a fairly simple design.

What would be the best option. A decal (something like a sticker) or should i have it painted on by somebody. Approx. price too if possible, thx.

This depends on a number of things. Since your design is a black and white silhouette, one option would be to have the white part of the design cutout in vinyl in a color that contrast well with your bike. For example, if the bike is a dark color such as black, having the design cutout of white vinyl would give the same visual image as your example design. This can be done very inexpensively too. Probably less than $20. Look for a local sign company.

The next option would be to have the design painted on. Even with this there are several options. You could mask it off and paint it yourself or have someone airbrush it on. Either way make sure you clean the area with a good pre-paint solvent to get all of the wax and grease off or the paint won’t stick properly. If you have it done this will certainly be done for you. The advantage of painting it is that the design becomes a lot more permanent. Having this done should cost between $50-$500 depending on the size of the design.

The vinyl is a great way to do it that won’t be a permanent change. If you sell the bike the design can be removed easily. Good luck with it, it looks like a cool design!
