talk with a dealer you trust. tell them you want to bring in a bike you are thinking of buying. ask if they will give it a quick mechanical check up

then ask the person selling the bike if you can have your mechanic check it out

The pipe and the stickers are a red flag,…. say to the guy you want a third party to check it out. If he blinks, him-haws around or gets evasive, walk away. If he already has a made up check out form I would be suspicious. This check-out is gonna cost around 60 to 75 bux. Ask him to go halves or just pay for it and take it off the price of the bike if its satisfactory. If its not, then consider it money well spent. If you take it for a ride pay special attention to the shifting and if it tracks straight. Look at the brakes for abnormal wear, listen to the motor very carefully and listen for any ticks or abnormal sounds. Look at the sprockets and see if there is teeth bending forward. Feel the clutch, is it hard or too soft?
Thats all i got… my two cents worth.
